Talon teaching organic chemistry lab at the University of Notre Dame
Talon Kosak: President and Principal Chemist
Mr. Kosak was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2016 with a B.S. in Chemistry. Talon was employed by GVSU for three year as a laboratory stockroom worker and specialized in analytical/instrumental chemistry, waste disposal management, and laboratory safety. Talon tutored undergraduate students in general chemistry and organic chemistry for two years. He researched the mechanism of the demethylation and cyclization reactions using boron tribromide via computational/synthetic chemistry for three years. Mr. Kosak entered a PhD program in synthetic organic chemistry at the University of Notre Dame. He has experience in drug design, natural products synthesis, asymmetric chemical synthesis, macromolecular chemistry, and steroid chemistry. He worked on treating rare autoimmune diseases using HDAC Inhibitors, oxysterols, and macromolecular chemistry. He chose to begin a career in chemistry after he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and was inspired to help treat others with diseases through his research. He has published two peer reviewed publications, given several presentations on related research, and founded Tetra Growth LLC in 2019.
